Luxiris was college drop out and now had a long police record, Luxiris
was in his early twenties with few options left to gain the career of
his dreams. He came from a spoiled background, could not live up to his
parents expectations and was cut off completely from their money after
he was caught using their credit for his own revolutionary projects.
Luxiris despised the Amarr system of government, he despised children
and family too but it was politics that kept him plotting more ways to
disrupt peoples lives to further his cause. He believed that by causing
chaos and getting it blamed on the government would force a revolution,
he did not care about the cost. Luxiris thought he had it all figured
out because he met some people that were part of a galactic
revolutionary scheme. Who he was working with was the greater part of
the mystery, not even Imperial Intelligence had that figured out.
Luxiris had no idea that the Empire had hired people that could bring
his world crashing down and possibly dig deeper into those who funded
him.
In a remote part of the solar system, the Sigil
class ship named Disrupt to Victory, moved at a mere 20 meters per
second. Luxiris was on the bridge of the ship looking at his officers.
The ships captain Magnus, reported all clear for the electronics officer
to begin the transmissions. So moments later the vast array of
electronics in the ships belly began to send its signal, first to
disrupt and second to replace broadcasts on all planets and less secure
stations with its own.
Within minutes billions of people across
the solar system went from watching their favorite programs or news to
watching a video of Imperial soldiers shooting people execution style.
Messages flashing across their screens about laws recently passed and
oppression.
At a huge sports stadium, two hundred thousand
people stopped watching the game on the field because of the video
showing never before seen footage of their local governor giving the
order to “tax the peasants to hell”.
Luxiris smiled as he watched
from the bridge, he knew once again his plan was working flawlessly.
That already after weeks of this, trouble was brewing for Imperial
Politicians and the Military.
The electronics officer reported “Captain Magnus, I am picking up signals from an incoming ship.”
“Check your frequency, no one can probe our location out that fast.” The Captain said
After
a minute the electronics officer shouted “No sir, enemy ship exiting
warp on our starboard side, frigate class moving in for attack”
“Maximum power, set warp drives, get us out of here” Magnus shouted with alarm
Luxiris was a bit shocked, he turned to Magnus “Captain, I thought you said this ship can’t be locked down, we can warp right?”
“Yes, yes but I don’t want to take any chances” the captain stroked his short beard and kept his cool.
Electronics reported “Captain, second ship exiting warp on our port side, another frigate”
“Who in the hell are they? I want reports now” The Captain demanded.
“No sir they are showing a foreign code, mercs I think, Rieos Coalition” the officer replied
“I never heard of them” Luxiris turned to the captain.
“Damn Imperial lap dogs, warp us out now, engage warp drives” Magnus barked.
“Warp drives off line, interference sir”
“No! you said we could escape, you said this…” Luxiris shouted at the captain, worry in his eyes.
“Captain
a third ship, a cruiser directly ahead exiting warp, drones being
deployed, they are neutralizing our capacitor” the electronics officer
reported.
“shut up Lux, if you had followed my procedures we
wouldn’t be here but you keep stalling for more time for your damn
transmission.” Captain Magnus knew he was in trouble, and he didn’t
hold back his displeasure with Luxiris.
“We are paying you good money, this is your fault” Luxiris told the captain pointing a finger at him.
“you better get off my ship before I change my mind whose side I am on” Anger flashed in Magnus eyes towards Luxiris.
“Pray my employer doesn’t hear you say that” Luxiris narrowed his eyes at the captain.
“Oh so now you are suddenly a man of god” Magnus replied
Luxiris
cared more about saving his own skin, he rushed down the corridor
towards escape pods, sirens were going off all over the ship as the
small crew grabbed guns preparing for a fight.
Explosions rocked
the ship. The pressure hull was breached and space marines swung in
through the large hole. A few of the ships crew nearby were slammed
against the bulkhead and died quickly as air escaped into the vaccum of
space. The ships hatches all closed but one blast of a marines grenade
gun blew one open again, killing two more crewmen.
Luxiris
scrambled into an escape pod and just before the doors closed there was a
huge explosion that almost knocked him unconscious from hitting the
ceiling. Marines rushed in and grabbed him before he blacked out due to
lack of oxygen
